District Councillors

James Le Sage – Spalding St Johns

I believe there is no place for national party politics at local level, people before politics always. I will represent my ward to the best of my ability and with help from my independent colleagues work for a better future for the area and it’s residents as a whole.

Sophie Hutchinson – Holbeach Town

I am actively engaged in my community; organising events, enhancing open spaces, and championing local issues like infrastructure. I believe local government should be about local people, not politics. As a new face with fresh ideas, I’m determined to bring about positive change in Holbeach and South Holland.

Paul Barnes – Fleet

I have always enjoyed being involved with the people and area of where I live. Shortly after moving here, I joined Fleet Parish Council and have been Chairman for the last 3 years.  I think I have encouraged some differences in how things are now done and having been elected as a district councillor will strive to make bigger differences at district level for Fleet Parish.  The Parish is the People  – I will be your voice.

Bryan Alcock – Crowland & Deeping St Nicholas

I have lived and worked in the ward all my life and enjoyed the privilege of representing you for many years as an Independent using a common sense approach. I am dedicated to the task and will do my very best to keep South Holland a good place to live. I will fight to get a fairer deal for the parishes and district.

Suresh (Sam) Chauhan – Spalding Monks House

I’ve lived in Monks house ward for over 15 years, worked in SHDC Housing department and for Lincs County Council Education services. I worked alongside the late Angela Newton on safer street lighting down Pennygate and Monks House park as well as supporting Independent councillors initiatives on No Fly Tipping and keeping Spalding clean.

Aaron Spencer – Spalding Wygate

It is an honour to stand alongside the South Holland Independents, I have been a local lad all my life. Having attended the local school and now run a business in the town I felt it only right to use my 12 years’ experience in local government to serve and give back to the town which I have called home for 31 years. I have been a party member for most of my political life locally, however experience and time have taught me that national party politics are not the best thing for the town.  I feel a strong independent opposition will put the needs and wants of the local people first.

Chris Brewis – Sutton bridge

I want to see our District working hard for every single town and village in South Holland.

We need to attract even more job creating firms to our whole area.

I wish to see better recreation facilities throughout our district. The District needs to listen to the residents much more.

Michael Booth BEM – Sutton Bridge

I have been a Parish and District Councillor for Sutton Bridge for a number of years.  I live and work in the Ward which makes me best placed to represent you as an Independent Councillor.  I have been working to get investment in our Parish to provide well paid jobs.  I am also concerned about the amount of harassment and bullying that has taken place and I will do my best to stamp it out.

Mark Le Sage – Spalding St Mary’s

Community should be about positivity and togetherness. I’ve always done my best to support our local communities and I will endeavour to do whatever I can to help the people of South Holland. Together we can make a difference, so let’s be a part of something great.

David Ashby – Spalding St Mary’s

I have 8 years experience as an ex-Tory councillor and no longer want to be told how to vote. So little has happened over these four years that the Independents must become the people for change, action and progress, and I hope to become part of that change.
